L.A Candy is a drama novel written by Lauren Conrad a reality tv star. The book is a reality version of Sex And The City. The drama and excitement is set in Los Angelas. When Jane and her best friend Scarlett get approached by a TV producer who wants them to star in a new reality TV show they can hardly believe it. Their own show, and getting paid a lot of money for just being themselves they jump right in and take the opportunity.

 

Soon Jane is television’s hottest star and she's getting all the attention with the paparazzi. But is Jane trusting the right people?  All the drama unfolds and people are hurt and people that are innocent are also hurt. Jane’s friends are angling for the spotlight and are jealous. Will this effect their friendship?

 

The main characters are Jane, Scarlett, Gabi and Madison also staring in the reality TV show, Braden Jane's crush and Jesse Jane's boyfriend later in the book. The main message of the story was that you should only trust your real friends and decide which ones they are. The story unfolds a lot of drama so if you aren't into drama I wouldn't recommend this book to you.

 

The book is more for girls than boys and only teenagers would understand it. The book was very interesting and kept my interest the whole way through. I never wanted to put the book down. The ending was brilliant and I can't wait to read the second book by Lauren Called “Sweet Little Lies”.
