Setting
The story takes place in a community in Austin Texas which is in the United States of America. The community is very similar to our own as it has a number of local shops and local schools. It is a nice housing estate. The houses where our characters live have good size gardens. It is a modern story set in the present day.
Themes and characters
The ups and downs of a daily life of a number of young People living in Austin, Texas. These are the themes explored in the novel. The characters are Theodore Johnson, Kaira Deleon, Ginny and x-ray. Theodore’s nickname is Armpit. He got it because he got stung in the armpit and kept complaining. Kaira is a famous singer who becomes friends with Ginny and armpit. X-ray met armpit
When they were at camp green lake and Ginny is Armpits neighbour.
PLOT
The plot revolved around the main characters Armpit, the lead singer Kaira and some counterfeit tickets, and the police detective who is trying to find the person who sold them. Armpit’s troubles begin when he meets up with his old friend X-ray. During the novel Kaira sends Armpit a letter telling him that she loves him, and inviting him to go to concert in Santiago. But X-ray told some gangsters about the letter and they threatened Armpit into giving them the letter. But he asks for more time to get the letter to give it to them.
STYLE OF WRITING
The writing was interesting and sometimes funny. It used lots of dialogue and narrative with Armpit ever present. The novel is getting told by Armpit, there is lots of dialogue in the book. The suspense in the book is very exciting and I couldn’t wait to read what lay ahead in the book. The paragraphs are very suspenseful, here is an example Armpit went out one door and in the other. He led Detective Newberg into the living room and offered her something to drink, but she declined. He sat at one end of the red and blue plaid couch, and she sat across from him on an ottoman (storage sit), her knees close together and her notebook on her lap. I’m not going to tell you the rest.
MY VIEW
This is the second book of the series, the first book is called Holes. I would recommend it to others. It is a very exciting read. It kept my attention through-out the whole book, I would look forward to read another book written by this author.
